| Our Food ECCLESIASTES 3:13: And also every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor. It is the gift of God. 1 TIMOTHY 4:1-5: The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liers, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. PSALM 67:1,2: God be merciful to us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. |

food noun any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink, or that plants absorb, in order to maintain life and growth ORIGIN late Old English foda, of Germanic origin; related to fodder ROMANS 14:14: As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. ROMANS: 14:19-22: Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fail. So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. AMOS 7:12: Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there. AMOS 9:14: And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. |
